    Baby Food Storage

When I think of feeding my children there is one universal theme- how can I feed my babies the best quality food on a realistic budget. I say realistic because sure if I had a thousand dollar food budget per week then it would be high quality super foods flown in from all over the world, but even if that were the case, I would still need a way to keep them fresh and store them. Funny, that even though my families weekly grocery budget is modest we share the same universal issue of how to safely store our babies food.

As our family grows so does this website- we started out just trying to figure out how to store the basic store bought baby foods so they would preserve the quality, taste, and be safe to eat. Now we are making more of our own baby foods as well as growing a lot of our own foods (there are a whole new set of circumstances with preserving are storage there too.)

This page has a basic overview of baby food storage, for more detailed information select one of the topics from our menu bar to read more detailed information. Be sure to book mark our site and check back often we try to add new articles and recipes each week.

How To Choose The Best Quality Baby Food Storage Containers

No matter which baby food storage container you choose, be sure that is was designed with FDA approved food safe materials, and always sterilize the food storage containers before using to prevent bacteria growth.

3 Most Popular Types of Baby Food Storage Containers

1 Frozen Baby Food Storage Cubes

There are several brands of baby food storage cubes. Look for the Baby Cubes (tm) brand, since they come in two sizes  1 ounce and two ounce, baby food storage containers that contain no Phthalates, Bisphenol-A, PVC. Each set of Baby Cubes includes 8 individual cubes with snap on lid that fit into a tray.  Dishwasher safe, stackable, airtight. Good for storage of baby food and breast milk. You can enjoy all the convince of pre-made jar baby food, but be able to feed your baby healthy breast milk or organic homemade baby food by storing in these freezer cubes.

Juvenile Solutions Baby Cubes-baby food freezer cubes with lids.

So Easy Baby Food and Breast Milk Storage Trays- You can use these storage trays to freeze baby food or breast milk into 12 pre-measured (approx 1 ounce - 30 ml per cube) single serving sizes (cubes.) Since the baby food or breast milk is frozen into cubes and not a large container of food, each cube equals one serving.  This will reduce baby food waste, since you only thaw out one cube at a time, you only defrost exactly what you need.  Dishwasher safe. Each So Easy Baby Storage tray comes with a lid. A really convenient product for breast feeding moms that have multiples, work outside of the home.

    Bulk Food Storage Containers

Bulk food storage is great because it enables you to buy foods for a lower price and store them to be used later. When using bulk storage containers, be sure that you have marked each container with the expiration date. It is very important to know and mark each container so that you are not feeding you baby food that has gone past it's shelf life. You need to be extremely careful to maintain the highest level of food safety standards when using baby food containers for long term food storage. Long term baby food storage may be a fraction of the time of "long term" food storage for adults.
