Fishing with the Ray's and LaRosa's
We hope you enjoy these fishing photo's and bait recopies. Poppy,
Drew and Papa Bill have created some of the best and stinkiest bait
recipes around. Have fun and happy fishin'. If you have any bait

Our #1 Secret for making bait is......to use water
from the lake we are going to fish in if there is
water called for in any of the recipes!!!!
Fish Grits Bait Recipe
1lb Bag of Dry Grits
2 Cans Whole Corn
3/4 Box instant potato
2 Cans of Cream Corn
Box of Coco Pops
Combine all ingredients except for the coco pops.
Stir until the bait will form into balls. Stick the
cocoa pop onto hook and smush the bait around it.
Blood Bait Recipe
1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
2 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 pint of chicken blood (ask your local butcher)
3 tbsp. garlic powder
1 box strawberry Jell-O
Cheese cloth
Combine the flour, corn meal, garlic powder and
vanilla. Add the blood slowly until the bait becomes
thick and can form into balls. Place the dough in
cheesecloth and lower into boiling water for 10-15
minutes. cool.
The dough will harden. Cut into pieces.
In a large bowl combine the pieces and the Jell-O
until it forms a ball. You may need to add more
blood to make it soft enough to work with). Store in
the refrigerator until you are ready to go
fishing...Mark package well to save your wife from
smelling inside the bowl to see what it is.
Carp and Catfish STINK Bait Recipe
35 putrefied night crawlers
1 lb. beef liver (liquefy in blender)
1 pint sour cream
3 Tbsp. garlic powder
1 package of frozen bread dough (thawed)
2 lbsp. Flour
Large Ziploc Bags
Combine the night crawlers, beef liver, sour cream,
garlic powder and bread dough. Kneed the dough as
you would if you were making the most disgusting
loaf of bread ever! Use the extra flour if the dough
is too sticky to work with.
Place your stinky dough into a zip lock baggie, make
sure that you squeeze all the air out, write on the
bag do not open unless you want to PUKE and let
ferment for 2 days. Unzip the baggie after the
second day to let some of the fermented air out.
When you are ready to go fishing...just stick a
chunk of the dough onto the hook and reel in the
fish!
Carp Bait Recipe
1 box of wheaties
1/2 pound of sausage
1 can of cat food
1 can of corn drained
In a large bowl. Combine all the ingredients. Store
in zip lock bag. Makes about 2 pounds of bait.
Banana carp bait
1 jar wheat germ
1-2 bananas
In medium bowl, combine the banana and the wheat
germ until it will form a ball that will stay on a
#6 treble hook.
Carp & Catfish Sweet Dough Bait
20oz. Box Bran flakes
6 oz. Cheddar cheese (grated)
5 oz. Honey
3 1/2 cups flour
1 package cherry Kool Aid
2 tbsp. Garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp. Anise oil
2 1/2 cups water
In a large bowl, smash the bran flakes, then add the
flour, cheese, Kool Aid, garlic powder, honey, water
and anise oil. Knead the bait for apporx 10 min or
so or until its smooth.
Place the bait onto wax paper. Flatten into large
pancake, (use some of the extra flower to keep it
from sticking if you need to). Put the bait pancakes
into gallon size Zip Lock bags. Make with permanent
marker and store in the freezer. When you are ready
to go fishing keep this bait in your cooler.
Galmakatsu octopus circle hooks, #1 or #2 size hook
all works well with this bait. (FYI-this is a heavy
bait)
Catfish & Carp Hotdog Bait
2 Hotdogs
2 cups Of Flour
3 Slices Of Cheese
1 Cup Of water
In a large bowl, combine chopped hot dogs, flour,
and chopped cheese. Mix well, add the water. Kneed
into a large ball. Store in a zip lock bag in the
refrigerator. Mark bag with pen so you know its bait
and not a snack!.
Peanut Butter Bait
1 box Maypo cereal.
1 1/2 cups of water
3/4 cup peanut butter.
3 Tbsp. Maple syrup
4 tablespoons of sugar
Tin Foil
In a medium sauce pan, boil the water; add peanut
butter, sugar, and maple syrup. Once the mixture is
melted reduce heat and stir in the Maypo. The
mixture will begin to thicken. Spared the mixture
onto a sheet of foil and let it cool. The bait will
take a few hours to firm up. Use a 2 or 4 bait hook.
Cheap Carp Bait
4 slices white bread
1 cup cottonseed meal
3 Tbsp imitation vanilla extract (don't use your
wife's real vanilla extract its really expensive).
In a medium bowl, combine bread, cottonseed meal
with vanilla flavoring. Kneed and roll into a ball.
The bait will be similar texture to bread dough.
Store the bait ball in zip lock bag in the
refrigerator. When you are ready to fish, pinch off
enough bait to cover a #12 treble hook.
Fast Wheaties Bait
1/2 cup Wheaties cereal (crushed)
1/2 cup flour
4 teaspoons sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup hot water
In a medium bowl combine all ingredients except for
the water. Add the water a little at a time, you
only want to add enough for the dough to mix into a
ball. Store in a zip lock bag.
Fruity Pebbles Bait
1 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal
1 Can sweet corn juice (drained)
In a medium bowl crush up the cereal and stir in the
corn juice a little at a time to make a stiff dough.
Store in a marked zip lock bag.
Top of the Water Carp Bait
1 Can Green Giant Whole Sweet Kernel Corn
4 Tbsp Butter
1/4 Cup Sugar
35 Miniature Marshmallows
In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter and
marshmallows until its melted. Remove from heat pour
the can of corn. Pour onto a sheet of tin foil.
Sprinkle sugar on top. Store in a plastic container
or ziplock bag. When you are ready to go fishing put
some of the bait on a #6 hook.
Strawberry Trolling Bait
1 can Strawberry soda
1 cup Corn flakes
In a medium size bowl, smash up the cornflakes and
add the strawberry soda. Cover and let firm up in
the refrigerator for a few days until its thick and
pasty.
Rice Bait
4lb bag of instant rice
1 bottle of Chocolate Syrup
1 bottle of B.B.Q. Sauce
1/2 bottle of Ketchup
1/2 bottle of maple syrup
1 pack of strawberry JELL-O
Follow the manuf. instructions to cook the rice. In
a large bowl combine all the ingredients and put
into a ziplock bag and let is set overnight. Form
into balls and fish your hear out!
STINKY- Catfish Stink Bait
1 package of rotten cheese
1 can Tuna
2 tsp. powdered garlic
3 Tbsp. White flour
1 pkg. Strawberry Jell-O
Water
Shrimp pieces
In a large ziplock bag combine all the ingredients.
We close the bag and smush it together to
combine...if not its just too awful smelling to
make. Once the bait it mixed, you are ready to go!
FYI-this is not a bait that you want to leave in
your tackle box in the garage...your neighbors may
think you have rotting bodies in there.
Oatmeal Bait
2 cups cornmeal
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup oatmeal
3 tsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1 pkg. strawberry Jello gelatin
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups water
1 bag of small fruit flavored marshmallows
In a large pot, over medium heat-combine all the
ingredients except for the flour and stir until the
marshmallows melt. Remove from heat, stir in flour
slowly and make sure it is blended well. We store
ours in old whipped cream tubs.
Karo Syrup Carp Bait
2 cups flour
8 tablespoons of sugar
16 oz karo syrup
1 pkg strawberry kool-aid
1 bag of yellow cornmeal
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and
store in a ziplock bag. If you want to fish soon.
Pop the bait in the freezer for 1 hour and head off
to fish.
Cheese & Raisin Bait
1 cup of raisins
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
2tsp garlic powder
3/4 cup of brown sugar
1/2 a cup of corn syrup
1/2 cup flour
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, parmesan
cheese, garlic powder, brown sugar and corn syrup.
Bring to a slight boil. Remove from heat and cool.
Add raisins and vinegar then stir. Slowly add flour
until the bait forms a dough. Store in a ziplock bag
until you are ready to fish.
Hotdog Stink Bait
6 hotdogs
1/4 cup vinegar
2 Tbsp Garlic salt
1/4 Cup powdered iced tea mix
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1 tsp. Seasoned salt
1/2 Cup parmesan cheese
2 slices bacon
In a large ziplock bag or container with lid,
combine chopped hotdogs, bacon., vinegar, garlic
salt, powdered iced tea, brown sugar, seasoned salt
and Parmesan cheese. Keep the container closed until
you are ready to fish...whooah it stinks!
