| How to make money selling your "stuff" at online auction sites...like Ebay and Yahoo Auctions Ebay Selling Secrets Free Ebook Part One Hello Fellow Ebayer, Did you know… · eBay 69 million ebay members spend $59 million per day! · Every minute of every day more than 150 new items are listed, more than 500 bids placed and seven new people shop on ebay. · At any given moment, eBay is conduction some 12 million auctions divided into 18,000 different categories. · 2 million items are offered for sale every day…and 62 million registered users scour the site to find them.“ According to eBay’s company overview. Wouldn’t you love to have just a small piece of that pie? There is definitely money to be made on eBay!!! Prior to becoming a full time Ebayer (We had premature twins), I was the corporate trainer for a fortune 500, Dot.com Company and taught (and wrote) sales and customer service training. The public company made over 380 million a year, so I feel very confident that my training could help you too. With that in mind, this is not here today gone tomorrow get rich quick scheme, you will have put in the effort, time, and follow the rules. None of the information I provide will teach you how to “get around” eBays rules. I say this because I have purchased many “how to sell on ebay e-books” that were filled with get-rich-quick ideas and techniques on how to use loop holes in eBays listing policies. You won’t find that information here. I hope you are still interested in reading further, as I have lots of information that I would love to share with you. Much of what I have learned about selling on eBay was by trial and error, so hopefully I can save you some time and costly errors. I wish you all the success in your business ventures. Click here when logged on to the internet. Make sure you choose the business or merchant account as you want to be able to accept cash transfers, credit cards and checks. Click the banner below to sign up for a free paypal business account to receive credit card for check payments I have to tell you that PayPal is a great option for any online business. I checked into opening a merchant account with a local bank to be able to accept credit cards and Wow they are expensive. $50.00 set up fee and subject to credit approval, $35.00 monthly maintenance fee, $300.00 for the equipment to run the credit cards and 8% transaction fee. Features of paypal: Free set up a paypal business/merchant account No credit checks No monthly fees No equipment to purchase You can not only accept Visa, master card, Amex, but also online checks and only pay a small transaction fee if you receive money to your account Free merchant services to create buy it now and visa logos onto your website and even in an email message Free merchant services to add a shopping cart to your website AND… You can accept payments from anyone in the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (I love to make money in my sleep), paypal also does all the currency calculations automatically for you too. Learn from my mistake and sign up for a paypal account before you list any auctions. In the beginning I tried to accept only money orders and personal checks until all my competitor’s auctions were closing with bidders and mine were not! Most online purchases are made with a credit card. They do not want to spend the time or money to get a money order and send it to you. The customer wants to impulse shop, “CHARGE IT”, buy it now! (and pay their credit card company later… usually much later) and have it delivered ASAP!!! Also I had to deposit the personal checks and keep checking with my bank to see if they cleared. And if the check did not clear the bank charged me a $5.00 processing fee. Paypal does all that for you, they notify you by email that you have a pending e-check payment and not to ship until they notify you again that it has cleared. (usually only takes 3 days). WHAT SHOULD I SELL…WHAT’S HOT? Hot items are constantly changing! What may sell great today might not sell great tomorrow. Items are seasonal just like in any major store. I know this is real basic, but sometimes we forget. When it’s hot outside people are not likely to be shopping for fleece blankets. So always be researching what others are selling and how much their auctions are closing for. (You can still buy those fleece blankets you find for $1.00, just wait for the right time to sell them.) Weekly, Ebay posts on a message board to let sellers know what’s a HOT seller in each category. Take advantage of the FREE time saving research. ***How to access the “Want it now” Board*** http://pages.ebay.com/wantitnow/ Buyers post items that they are looking for and sellers can browse the requests. You can get an idea of what to sell but also contact a buyer if you have the item they are requesting. A brilliant idea on ebays part! How to access the Hot Items Boards From the Ebay home page Click on the community button Click on the message discussion boards On the bottom of the page click on hot items Or try From the ebay home page click COMMUNITY Click on News CHATTER Click on: Pink's Pick BLUE UNDERLINED HERE To help sellers understand what items have the highest demand, eBay publishes weekly updates to the Hot Items board. Check here to get the latest scoop on the "hot items" being bid on in different eBay categories, homepage merchandising information, and other data, as available! You can look at the message for each category and see what are hot sellers. Okay, now what should I sell? My best advise is sell what you know. Find a niche and stay within it. You will find that you are part of a “community” and bidders will send other bidders to you. When you sell things that don’t “fit” people wonder if you are “just” a here today gone tomorrow seller. You want to build trust and loyalty with your bidders. I am now a stay at home mom with three children so I sell things that a stay at home mom would need, want, buy. My best example of selling out of my niche is: My father is a pilot. When I listed his GPS for him, not only were other pilots emailing me questions, I could not answer, but some of my usual bidders email me with questions like “Oh I see you are in business now selling all kinds of things.” People on Ebay seem to like to buy from a person not a business. Which leads up to a later point. Do you really want to be a “power seller”? (Yes of course you want the money, but would the title next to your user name help or HURT you?) If you can, try to maintain a general focus or theme: Your ebay seller name: allysgoodies (my name + fun goodie type stuff) items you sell: Mystery Shopping, Recipes, Potpourri, baby stuff content of your about me page: very personal, my family, whats new You'll be perceived as an expert. There are ways to make a lot more money if you have a theme. List of just a few possible items to sell, keep in mind that this list is endless. I am just trying to help get you started. If you go to the ebay home page you can get a better idea of the categories and some possible items you might be interested in. Movies Electronics Games Stickers Comics Gardening supplies Pet items New clothing Used clothing Books Appliances Crafts Sewing notions Fabric Office supplies Household decorations Shipping supplies (biggie) Vintage items Antiques Furniture Party supplies Make and sell jewelry Decorations Potpourri Candles Hobby items McDonalds Toys Used Children’s Toys New children’s toys Cook books Collect and sell coupons Quilts Computer Ink Stationary Scrapbooking Items Fabric Purses Pottery Patterns E-Books Childrens Books DVS's VHS Tapes Old Cd's New Cd's Linens |
